September Jarrett is an experienced professional in early childhood education and public policy, currently serving as a Program Officer at the Heising-Simons Foundation since November 2018. Prior to this role, September was the Director at the San Francisco Office of Early Care and Education from July 2016 to November 2018, focusing on enhancing access to quality early education for children aged 0-5. September also held the position of Program Director at the Mimi and Peter Haas Fund from June 2012 to July 2016, where responsibilities included developing funding strategies for vulnerable families in San Francisco. Earlier experience includes serving as the Director of Services for HOPE SF, overseeing human service design and delivery for a significant public-private partnership, and as the Director of Policy for the SF Department of Children, Youth & Their Families, managing policy development and grant strategy for the department.
