Eric Jin

Principal Process Engineer, System Modeling And Simulation at Heliogen

Eric Jin has extensive work experience in engineering and leadership roles. Eric is currently working at Heliogen as a Principal Process Engineer, specializing in system modeling and simulation. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Process Engineer at Heliogen. Eric also worked as a Senior Chemical Engineer at Heliogen, focusing on thermal process and power generation.

Before joining Heliogen, Eric worked at Babcock & Wilcox as a Performance Engineering Specialist for two years. Eric was responsible for ensuring optimal performance in engineering systems.

Eric also has research experience, having worked as a Research Engineer at the Chemical and Energy Recovery Research Group at the University of Toronto. Eric also served as a Teaching Assistant during their time there.

In addition, Eric held leadership positions during their academic years. Eric was the President of the Pulp and Paper Technical Association of Canada (PAPTAC) Student Community and served as the Co-Chair of the Institute for Leadership Education in Engineering: Graduate. Eric also co-founded Cupit, a social venture.

Eric Jin has a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto, which they obtained between 2013 and 2017. Prior to that, they earned a M.A.Sc in Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry from the same institution, where they studied from 2011 to 2013. Eric completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto as well, receiving a B.A.Sc in Engineering from 2007 to 2011.
