Mateo Marin-Cuartas

Mateo Marin-Cuartas is a Cardiac Surgery and Critical Care resident at Herzzentrum Leipzig GmbH since July 2017, where Mateo also serves as Coordinator of Academic Affairs. In May 2024, Mateo began roles as Assistant Editor for both the European Journal of CardioThoracic Surgery and JACC Case Reports, and became JANS Editor for CTSNet in October 2023. Additionally, Mateo has been the Editor-in-Chief of the LACES online Scientific platform since October 2020 and has held various leadership roles, including Member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Residents Committee. Mateo's research background includes serving as an Investigator at Leipzig Heart Institute GmbH from February to September 2022 and completing a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Stanford University in 2021. Educational qualifications include a Doctoral degree in Cardiac Surgery from Leipzig University and an MD from Universidad CES.
