Yuchen (Watson) Hua has a wealth of work experience. Starting in 2011, they served as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Haptix Lab at the University of Michigan. Yuchen (Watson) also worked as a Research Assistant at the Human Biomechanics and Control Laboratory at the University of Michigan in 2011. In 2012, they were a Teaching Assistant at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and a Graduate Student Instructor at the University of Michigan. In 2013, they were a Research Intern at the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute and a Software Integrity Intern at Altair Engineering. From 2014 to 2016, they were a Mechanical Design Engineer at Cummins Westport Inc. (CWI), where they were the primary (and only) Mechanical Designer for CWI's 2016 ISB 6.7 G natural gas engine and modified existing diesel engine component designs to adapt to natural gas engine design specifications. Since 2012, they have also been a CAE Trouble-Shooter at their Personal CAE Workshop, helping many of their friends and previous students with CAE software assistance. Finally, since 2016, they have been a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Heller Industries.
Yuchen (Watson) Hua attended Shanghai High School from 2005 to 2008. Yuchen (Watson) then attended Shanghai Jiao Tong University from 2008 to 2012, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical & Computer Engineering. Yuchen (Watson) continued their education at the University of Michigan from 2010 to 2012, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Yuchen (Watson) then completed a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan in 2013. Additionally, they obtained a Certified Solidworks Associate in December 2012.
