Dalena León Fon Fay

Dalena León Fon Fay is currently a PhD student at Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon, focusing on Climate Extremes and Storylines since November 2023. Previously, Dalena served as a Student Research Assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology from May 2022 to November 2023, where responsibilities included analyzing ICON model performance related to sea-ice and investigating Polar Low formation in the Southern Hemisphere. Early research experience includes a research internship at Universidad de Chile in early 2020, involving image processing of non-linear wave damping, and another internship at DGIST in mid-2019, focusing on modeling interactions in microcavities. Dalena holds a Master of Science degree in Ocean and Climate Physics from the University of Hamburg and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Universidad Yachay Tech.
