Moné Norman

Administrative Coordinator, Leadership Team at Helps Education Fund

Moné is a real Triangle native; she grew up in a town right outside of Raleigh, called Wake Forest. She then earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and now resides in Durham. After graduating from UNC, she followed her passions of supporting students and began her career working with students and families of Durham. Her interests in working with nonprofit organizations led her to earn a Nonprofit Certificate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

For four years Moné worked for Citizen Schools two of which she served as an AmeriCorps Member. There she worked with students, families, school personnel and volunteers to support student learning during after school hours. There she managed volunteers and saw how important community involvement impacts students’ success. At Communities in Schools of Durham Moné continued working in afterschool programs for two years and then transitioned to working in an administrative capacity. Since then, she has managed grants, data analysis, communications, donor cultivation, and Board involvement for Communities In Schools of Durham, Duke Tip and Chairs’ Office in the School of Medicine at Duke University.
