Matilde Aquilino is a PhD researcher at the Helsinki Institute of Life Science (HiLIFE) since November 2021, focusing on human brain development, evolution, and neurodevelopmental diseases under Takashi Namba's group within the Doctoral Programme Brain & Mind. Previously, Matilde held positions as a research assistant in translational neuroscience and as an undergraduate student researcher at the University of Helsinki, where work involved examining the elevation of endogenous GDNF during mid-gestation and its effects on cortical thickness in mice. Matilde's early experience includes an internship trainee role at Farmacia Chimica. Matilde earned a Master's Degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology from Università degli Studi del Piemonte Orientale between 2015 and 2020, and attended Collegio Carlo Alberto from 2010 to 2015.
