Anne Blecksmith

Associate Director and Head, Reader Services at The Huntington

Anne Blecksmith has a diverse range of work experience in various library roles. Anne began their career at the J. Paul Getty Trust, where they worked as a Reference Librarian from November 2001 to April 2009. Anne then became the Head of Digital Services at The Getty Research Institute from April 2009 to January 2014. Anne went on to work at The Huntington, starting in January 2014, where they held multiple roles including Reader Services Librarian and Manager of Access Services until June 2016, and then Head of Reader Services from July 2016 to July 2022. Additionally, they worked on an as-needed basis as a Reference Librarian for the Los Angeles Public Library starting in December 2015.

Anne Blecksmith holds a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from Drexel University. Additionally, they have earned a Master's Degree in Art History from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna. Prior to that, Anne completed their Bachelor's Degree at UC Irvine, majoring in Art History and Studio Art.
