Tony Horner

Tony Horner serves as the Chief Technology Officer at the Henry Royce Institute and holds a professorship in Materials Science at The University of Manchester, both positions starting in March 2023. Previously, Tony held various roles at Rolls-Royce from May 2011 to February 2023, including Technical Specialist in Materials and Integrated Product Team Lead. Prior to this, Tony was Operations Manager and Section Leader at Serco in the Defence Nuclear Business from August 2007 to April 2011. Tony's academic journey includes a PhD in Materials Science from the University of Birmingham and advanced degrees in Corrosion Science and Engineering from The University of Manchester and Materials Science from Sheffield Hallam University.
