Doan Dao, MD, is a prominent physician and academic recognized for expertise in gastroenterology and hepatology, currently serving as the Director of the Center of Excellence for Liver Disease in Vietnam at the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine since July 2020. In addition to this role, Dao has been an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the same institution since January 2020 and a member of the Medical Advisory Board for the Hepatitis B Foundation since 2019. As a co-founder and board member of the Vietnam Viral Hepatitis Alliance, Dao has contributed significantly to reducing the public health impact of hepatitis B and C in Vietnam. Previous experience includes a fellowship and residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center, as well as leadership roles with the National Task Force on Hep B. Dao holds an MD from UT Southwestern Medical Center and a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from The University of Texas at Austin.
