Mathieu Rappas

Director and Head of Biochemistry at Heptares Therapeutics

Mathieu Rappas has a diverse work experience primarily in the field of biochemistry and protein expression. Mathieu started their career at Imperial College London as a Research Associate in 2006. From 2007 to 2010, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The Institute of Cancer Research and later at the MRC Genome Damage and Stability Centre. In 2012, they joined Heptares and held various roles including Senior Scientist in Protein Expression, Principal Scientist in Protein Expression and X-ray crystallography. In 2018, Mathieu moved to Sosei Heptares where they served as an Associate Director in X-ray crystallography and later as an Associate Director and Head of Protein Expression and Biochemistry. Currently, Mathieu holds the position of Director and Head of Biochemistry at Sosei Heptares.

Mathieu Rappas pursued their education in the field of biochemistry and biochemical research. Mathieu began their academic journey in 1998 at Pierre and Marie Curie University, where they completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biochemistry in 2001. Following this, Mathieu continued their studies at Imperial College London, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Biochemical Research in 2002. Mathieu then proceeded to pursue a doctoral degree specializing in X-ray crystallography and cryo-Electron Microscopy at the same institution. Mathieu successfully completed their PhD from Imperial College London in 2006. Throughout their education history, Mathieu Rappas focused on subjects related to biochemistry and utilized advanced techniques in crystallography and microscopy.
