Mya Fekry

Mya Fekry has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Mya is currently working as a Senior Target Validation Scientist at Sosei Heptares since November 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Wellcome Sanger Institute as an Advanced Research Assistant from July 2019 to November 2021. Before that, they held multiple positions at Horizon Discovery, including Scientist II - In Vitro Gene Engineering from April 2017 to June 2019, and Production Scientist from June 2015 to May 2017. Mya also has experience as an Associate Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University in the Faculty of Science & Technology, specializing in the delivery of modules in the Life Sciences pathways, from September 2009 to January 2017, and in the Faculty of Arts, Law & Social Sciences, delivering Basic Criminalistics to students from September 2015 to December 2016. Additionally, they worked as a CLP Scientific Support Administrator at Horizon Discovery from August 2013 to January 2015, and as a Pathogen Genomics Bacterial Genome Curator (Summer Student) at Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute in 2008.

Mya Fekry completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biomedical Sciences, General from Anglia Ruskin University in the years 2006 to 2009. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Forensic Science from the same university from 2009 to 2010. Finally, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Forensic, Cellular and Molecular Toxicology from Anglia Ruskin University between 2013 and 2018.
