Megan Everett has been working in the medical field since 2016, when they began their role as a Certified Medical Assistant Float at Vanderbilt Adult Urology. In this role, they were responsible for intake, obtaining vital signs, notifying patients of test results, setting up and cleaning exam rooms, Foley removal and changes, stint removal, charting, performing bladder scans, performing catheterization, obtaining and shipping off labs, and administering injections. In 2017, they took a role as a Medical Assistant at Associated Urologists of Nashville, where they were responsible for similar tasks as well as mixing BCG medications. In 2018, they began their current role as a Certified Medical Assistant- Floater at Heritage Medical Associates, where they interview patients and documents basic medical history, organizes and schedules appointments, updates and files medical records and insurance reports, checks with patients and types up patient charts, assists during medical examinations, produces and distributes correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms, handles receivable and payable accounts and keeps financial records, prepares and cleans treatment rooms and medical instruments, gives injections, performs phlebotomy, spins blood in centrifuge, collects urine samples, is able to work with different providers and specialists, is able to make new patient charts in EHR, and is able to work front desk, scheduling, back office, and lab. Prior to this, they worked as a Sales Associate at Gaylord Opryland Resort in 2013 and as a Student Assistant at Tennessee State University in 2013, and as a Crew Member at Chipotle Mexican Grill in 2012, where they were responsible for preparing and serving food, responding to phone calls, cash and card transactions, greeting customers, and cleaning and sanitizing dishes, sweeping and mopping floors.
Megan Everett began their educational journey at Tennessee State University in 2010. Megan attended until 2015, but did not receive a degree. In 2015, they attended Nashville College of Medical Careers to become a Medical/Clinical Assistant, but did not receive a degree. In 2018, they began attending Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) and earned a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Psychology in 2020.
