Donald Forbes

Editor, The Griffin at Heritage Trust of Nova Scotia

Donald Forbes is a seasoned professional in the fields of Earth and Environmental Sciences, with a significant academic and research background. Currently serving as an Adjunct Professor at both Dalhousie University and Memorial University of Newfoundland, Donald contributes to the academic community while also holding the position of Editor for The Griffin at the Heritage Trust of Nova Scotia. A Research Scientist Emeritus at the Geological Survey of Canada, Donald has extensive experience in coastal geology, having previously served as Vice Chair for Future Earth Coasts and as a Coastal Geologist for the South Pacific Applied Geoscience Commission. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Arctic Hydrology and Sedimentology from The University of British Columbia, a Master’s Degree from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor’s Degree from Carleton University. Donald is also a current resident of two heritage homes, one dating back to 1850 and another from 1877.
