Betsy Lyons is a highly experienced environmental professional with a robust background in restoration planning and marine conservation. Currently serving as a Senior Restoration Planner at Herrera Environmental Consultants since January 2023, Betsy previously worked as a Senior Capital Projects Coordinator for Seattle Public Utilities from January 2014 to January 2023. Between 2010 and 2014, Betsy managed the Estuary and Salmon Restoration Program at the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, focusing on funding nearshore ecosystem restoration in Puget Sound. Betsy's earlier career included a role as Marine Conservation Project Manager at The Nature Conservancy from November 1999 to January 2010, where strategic planning and implementation of marine conservation projects were prioritized. Betsy holds a Master's degree in Environmental Studies from The Evergreen State College and two Bachelor's degrees in Botany from the University of Washington.
