Xin Zhao

Xin Zhao has worked in a variety of roles in the past decade. In 2010, they were a Research Assistant at Waseda University. From 2011-2014, they were a Manager, Senior Software Engineer, and Calibration and HIL Test Engineer at Saic Motor Co., Ltd. In 2014, they also became an Adjunct Researcher at Waseda University, where they worked on motion control and path planning algorithm development and L3/L4 ADS controller development and application. In 2019, they joined Hesai Technology as a Senior Director and Director, where they lead the system safety team and quality management/assurance and integrated product development process teams. In 2020, they became an STP Member at UL and Chair of IEEE P2936 at IEEE Standards Association.

Xin Zhao holds a Master's degree in Autonomous Driving from Waseda University and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Electronics from Dalian University of Technology. In addition, Zhao has obtained certifications from AVTECH Institute of Technology, Udacity, SGS Environmental Testing Center, 上海汽车集团股份有限公司, and Saic Motor Co., Ltd. These certifications include TOGAF® Certification Program (obtained in July 2021), Sensor Fusion (obtained in January 2020), AFSP (obtained in April 2017), 资深内训师 (obtained in January 2017), and 高级经理训练营 (obtained in April 2018).
