Karen Volpato

Karen Volpato is a seasoned professional in superannuation marketing and policy, currently serving as the Manager Policy at HESTA since October 2023. Previously, Karen operated as a consultant from October 2019 to September 2023 and held various influential roles including Director at the Gateway Network Governing Body and Senior Policy Adviser at the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees. Key achievements include developing the AIST-Mercer Super Tracker and leading pro bono initiatives as Chair of the Policy Committee for Women In Super. With a strong background in marketing management at First State Super and advisory services at the Retirement Benefits Fund, Karen has also contributed to policy development at the Local Government Association of Tasmania and established a legal department at Trust Bank. Educational qualifications include a Law degree from the University of Tasmania and a certificate in trustee board training from the AIST Springboard program.
