Willemijn van Helden

Willemijn van Helden is an experienced professional with a diverse background in public service and management. Currently serving as the Bestuurder van het Juridisch Loket since January 2022, Willemijn leads efforts to promote a just society with a team of 400 across 45 locations. Previously, Willemijn held the position of Directeur en plaatsvervangend secretaris at the Algemene Rekenkamer from January 2018 to December 2021, overseeing a team of 230. As Vicevoorzitter of the rekenkamercommissie for Gemeente Leiden, Willemijn supported municipal councils in policy research from March 2015 to February 2019. Additional leadership experience includes serving as Teamleider at De Nationale ombudsman, managing the Werk en Inkomen and Caribisch Nederland teams, and directing significant investigations into societal issues such as the Kinderopvangtoeslag crisis and digital security following the DigiNotar incident. Willemijn's academic credentials include a cum laude degree in Sociale Geografie from the University of Amsterdam and various specialized training programs.
