The Senior Instructor –Technical Specialist and Curriculum Developer is responsible for designing, delivering, and refining technical training programs focused on scripting (Python, etc.), forensic techniques, web reconnaissance, data collection, and web scraping, with an emphasis on hands-on instruction and innovative curriculum development. Collaborating with the instructor team and reporting directly to the Training Manager, this role ensures training outcomes align with client expectations and target audience goals while supporting the Academy's strategic objectives. All curricula are developed under the leadership of this role but subject to approval to ensure alignment with the Academy’s business strategy, marketing messaging, and client needs, fostering a reputation for excellence in OSINT training.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Technical Curriculum Development
- Lead the design and development of training modules focused on scripting, forensic investigation techniques, web reconnaissance, data collection, and web scraping.
- Collaborate with the Training Manager for curriculum review and approval to ensure alignment with strategic objectives, client promises, and market positioning.
- Continuously incorporate emerging tools, technologies, and methodologies into training programs to maintain technical relevance and innovation.
- Instructional Excellence
- Deliver high-impact, hands-on technical training to learners across multiple modalities, including in-person, virtual, and on-demand platforms.
- Develop engaging instructional materials that emphasize problem-solving, practical application, and real-world OSINT scenarios.
- Adapt instructional approaches to accommodate diverse learner technical skill levels and ensure effective knowledge transfer.
- Instructor Development and Collaboration
- Mentor and support instructors in incorporating technical elements into their training, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement within the team.
- Provide technical guidance and resources to instructors to strengthen their teaching capabilities in scripting (Python), forensics, and web scraping.
- Partner with instructors to troubleshoot technical challenges and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality training.
- Program Assessment and Refinement
- Consult with the Training Manager to evaluate training effectiveness, ensuring learning outcomes meet client expectations and align with Academy objectives.
- Analyze course performance metrics and learner feedback to identify opportunities for curriculum enhancement.
- Implement data-driven improvements to technical training content to maximize learner engagement and satisfaction.
- Industry Engagement and Representation
- Represent the Academy as a technical expert at industry events, conferences, and workshops to promote its advanced training programs.
- Stay informed about the latest trends, tools, and practices in OSINT, web reconnaissance, and technical investigations to integrate into training programs.
- Operational Contributions
- Collaborate with the Training Manager to ensure training outcomes align with client commitments and the Academy’s marketing and business strategy.
- Provide insights into the effectiveness of various training formats and recommend strategies to enhance learner completion rates and satisfaction.
- Participate in client consultations and proposal development to tailor technical training solutions to client needs.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of professional experience in OSINT, technical investigations, or related roles.
- Proficiency in Python scripting for OSINT tasks, including automation and data scraping.
- Advanced knowledge of web reconnaissance, forensic investigation methods, and data collection tools and techniques.
- Proven ability to design and deliver technical training that incorporates hands-on, practical components.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to translate complex technical concepts into accessible training materials.
- Familiarity with instructional technologies and platforms for course delivery and development.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing instructors, trainers, and programs.
- Advanced skills with computer programs and online resources for course development, delivery, project management, and other aspects of the job.
- Training or education program management experience.
- Excellent judgment and people skills; ability to forge strong working relationships with stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Degree or advanced degree in education or related field of study.
- Advanced understanding of browser-based forensic analysis, dark web reconnaissance, and publicly available information (PAI) collection.
- Possess current Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) or Cyber Investigation Certification.
