Umang Patel has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Umang started their career as a Paediatric Doctor in the NHS in 2004 and continued working in various roles within the organization until 2013. Umang then joined Ashford and St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Trust as a Clinical Fellow in Neonatology from 2011 to 2013. Following that, Umang worked as a Clinical Transformation Lead at Aviva plc from 2013 to 2015. Umang also held multiple positions at Babylon, including Director of Clinical Strategy and Managing Director of NHS Services, where they played a key role in developing digital-first healthcare services and managing the company's P&L account. Umang served as a Non-Executive Director at Hexarad Ltd from 2021 onwards and currently holds the position of Chief Clinical Information Officer at Microsoft since 2022.
Umang Patel attended Sutton Valence School from 1992 to 1999. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Medicine degree at the University of Southampton from 1999 to 2004. In August 2004, they obtained their BM degree in Medicine from the University of Southampton. Later, in August 2012, Umang Patel received a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Leadership from The University of Manchester.
