Boris Arévalo

Boris Arévalo has extensive experience in IT management and administration. Boris currently serves as the Regional IT Officer at HIAS since April 2022, where they are responsible for managing and administering the organization's network infrastructure and servers, as well as overseeing global implementations and personnel management.

Prior to their role at HIAS, Boris worked as an IT Officer at HIAS from November 2020 to April 2022, where they managed and administered the organization's network infrastructure and servers, implemented global projects, and ensured optimal deployment of IT applications.

Before joining HIAS, Boris served as the IT Network Administrator at Alfa GL from January 2018 to November 2020. In this role, they managed and administered the corporation's network infrastructure and servers, handled global implementations, and supervised IT personnel and vendors.

Boris previously worked as a Server & Network Administrator at APM Terminals from February 2016 to January 2018. Boris was responsible for managing and administering the corporation's network infrastructure and servers, planning and dimensioning the infrastructure, and handling Microsoft applications.

Prior to their role at APM Terminals, Boris held multiple positions at Bside Peru SAC. Boris served as a Supervisor IT from January 2015 to January 2016, where they supervised the IT department, provided support for MS Exchange servers and MS SQL databases, and managed projects integrating accounting and billing systems. Boris also worked as an IT Coordinator from July 2010 to December 2014, overseeing the IT area and network administration, creating IT policies and processes, and coordinating IT equipment purchases.

Before joining Bside Peru SAC, Boris worked as an Oficial Regional IT at Oxfam from May 2001 to October 2008. In this role, they provided leadership in IT for the South America region, managed and coordinated the development and implementation of regional IT plans, and remotely administered 18 servers.

Additionally, Boris has experience as a Técnico ISP at Cyberline SRL, where they supported users, managed Cyberline and external client servers, and configured Linux servers. Boris also worked as the Jefe de Soporte Técnico at Municipalidad Distrital de La Victoria from February 1999 to May 2000, and as Soporte Técnico at Grey Peru GCG from March 1998 to January 1999.
