Raksha Vasudevan

Raksha Vasudevan is an experienced journalist and consultant with a focus on race, environmental justice, and economic development. Currently serving as a Contributing Editor for High Country News since January 2023, Raksha has also contributed as a freelance journalist for notable publications including The New York Times, The Guardian, Harper's Bazaar, VICE, and Outside since 2018. Past roles include Managing Consultant at MarketShare Associates, where Raksha worked on various aid and economic development projects in East and West Africa, and Senior Strategist at Pollen Group, focusing on similar initiatives in East Africa. A former Project Manager for Handicap International, Raksha led efforts to prevent accidents from explosive remnants of war in Mali and Syria. Educational credentials include a Master's in Development Studies from the Geneva Graduate Institute and a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing from the University of Calgary.
