Andrew Matheson

Andrew Matheson is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in high-performance sports and consulting. Currently serving as the General Manager of Strategy and Innovation at High Performance Sport New Zealand since July 2021, Andrew also holds the position of Acting General Manager for Strategy Implementation. Andrew operates Matheson Consulting, which focuses on enhancing organizational performance through strategic planning and operational execution. Previous roles include General Manager at Surfprep and Chief Executive at Cycling New Zealand. Andrew has a robust background with High Performance Sport New Zealand in various capacities and has held significant positions such as National High Performance Director for Rowing at the Australian Institute of Sport and High Performance Manager at Rowing New Zealand. Educational qualifications include a BCom in Marketing and a BPhEd in Physiology and Biomechanics from the University of Otago.
