Emily Scates

Emily Scates possesses extensive experience in pastoral and educational roles, currently serving as a Pastoral Resident at Highland Park Presbyterian Church since August 2013. In this position, Emily engages in various pastoral functions while developing personal ministry skills. Previously, Emily held the role of Assistant Director of Children's Ministry, where leadership and empowerment of others were key focuses. Additional experience includes serving as an Assistant Teacher at Highland Park Presbyterian Day School and a Practicum Student at Shiloh Counseling Services, providing foundational counseling skills. Emily also led the Summer Splash day camp as Lead Counselor from 2009 to 2012. Academically, Emily holds dual M.A. degrees in Theological Studies and Christian Counseling from Dallas Baptist University and a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from Texas Tech University.
