George Farquhar

George Farquhar has extensive experience in airport operations and safety management, currently serving as the Director of Airport Operations at Highlands and Islands Airports Ltd since March 2019. In this role, George oversees the 11 Airport and Station Managers and supports various functions, having previously held positions such as Head of Operational Support, responsible for areas including Air Traffic Services and Health & Safety. Earlier experience includes serving as Chief Fire Officer and Airport Fire Manager at the same company, as well as roles in the construction industry, including managing director and skilled tradesman. George’s educational background includes completing high school at Sandwick Junior High School.
