Stephen Coma has extensive work experience in the finance industry. Stephen began their career at Merrill Lynch in 1995 as a Managing Director, where they focused on public finance and derivatives origination. Stephen then joined Bank of America in 2001, also as a Managing Director, specializing in real estate, housing, and public-private partnership finance. After three years, they moved to BB&T Capital Markets, where they held two roles as a Managing Director. In their first role, they focused on high-yield tax-exempt origination, specializing in healthcare, housing, and project finance. In their second role, they worked in structured finance, creating a tender option bond program and a collateralized debt securitization strategy. Currently, Stephen is a Senior Managing Director at Hilltop Securities Inc., leading the Debt Capital Markets division and focusing on high-yield transactions in housing, healthcare, and project finance.
Stephen Coma earned an A.B. in Psychology from Princeton University, completing their studies in the field between 1977 and 1981. Subsequently, from 1983 to 1985, they pursued an MBA with a specialization in Finance from the University of Chicago.
