Nicholas Konen

Nicholas Konen, PE, PMP, MBA has a diverse work history, starting as a Construction Manager Intern at K. Hovnanian® Homes in 2007. Nicholas later worked as a Civil Engineer Intern at CivilTech Engineering, Inc. in 2010. From 2012 to 2020, they held various roles at BNSF Railway, including Project Engineer and Director of Economic Development. Nicholas then worked at Jacobs as a Senior Project Manager before joining NCDOT as Rail Operations & Facilities Branch Manager. Currently, they are the Director of Strategic Development at Hillwood since June 2022. Nicholas also earned their MBA and MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and The University of Texas at Arlington, respectively.

Nicholas Konen obtained a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2011. In 2018, they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration and Management from The University of Texas at Arlington. Additionally, they hold the Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification from the Project Management Institute and is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in both Texas and North Carolina.
