Alexey Gaponov

UX Lead, Measuring Systems at Hilti

Alexey Gaponov has a diverse work experience in the field of user experience (UX) design. Alexey started their career in 2006 as a Web/UI Designer at Exigen Services, where they worked on projects such as UI design for customer intranet tools and an online CD label design and printing tool. In 2009, they joined Museum Night St. Petersburg as a Lead UX Designer and Full-Stack Web Developer, where they redesigned the website, implemented personalized features for visitors, and managed the work of external designers.

From 2011 to 2017, Alexey worked at Devexperts as a UX Design Lead, managing a team of designers and implementing user testing and design specifications into the product development process. Alexey then joined Intel Corporation, initially as a User Experience Designer for IoT Dev Tools and later as a Lead UX Designer for Drone Software.

In 2020, Alexey joined Brainlab as a Senior UX Designer, focusing on UX design for medical technology. Despite not finding success in this field, they gained valuable experience in challenging traditional design methods and advocating for advanced prototyping and future technologies.

Currently, Alexey is working at Hilti Group as a UX Lead for Measuring Systems, starting in September 2021.

Alexey Gaponov completed a Diploma in Design Engineering with a focus on Human-Computer Interaction Design from Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. Alexey also obtained an MSM degree in Business Management from the same university. Additionally, they have received certifications in Data Visualization, UX Research for Agile Teams, Drone Piloting License, R Programming, and The Data Scientist's Toolbox.
