Steve Weakland

Steve Weakland is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in development, communications, and marketing within the sports industry and non-profit organizations. Currently serving as the Executive Director of Development at Hinds Hospice since June 2020, Weakland also operates Weakland Sports Consulting, providing brand management, strategic planning, and fundraising services to a diverse range of clients, including NFL franchises and NCAA athletics departments. Previously, Weakland held significant roles such as Director of Development at California State University, Fresno, and Director of Corporate Communications for the San Francisco 49ers, where responsibilities included media relations, public relations, and strategic campaign planning. Additional experience includes a tenure at Fresno State overseeing communications for NCAA Division I programs and serving as the Sports Information Director at the University of Alaska Anchorage. Weakland holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism/Broadcasting from the University of Wyoming.
