Robert Ross serves as the RISE Director at the University of Puerto Rico and has been a member of the Science Advisory Committee for the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) since 2000. Robert Ross holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Botany/Plant Biology from the University of Oklahoma, obtained between 1974 and 1979. Prior academic achievements include a Master of Science (MS) in Botany/Plant Biology from The University of Memphis and two Bachelor of Science (BS) degrees in Biology and Biological Sciences from Memphis State University and The University of Memphis, respectively, earned between 1968 and 1974.
