Annamarie Sasagawa

Annamarie Sasagawa is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in corporate strategy, communications, and education. Currently serving as the Director of Global Strategy and Communications at Hitachi since July 2021 and as an Adjunct MBA Instructor at the University of Tsukuba since January 2020, Annamarie has a strong background in enhancing corporate culture and executive communications at Kao Corporation from 2015 to 2021. Earlier roles include Research Director at Insight Ten, where project oversight focused on the Japanese market, and an Ethnographic Research Consultant, offering strategic insights across various industries. Annamarie's career began at Intrepid Travel, managing Japan operations after several years as a tour guide. Annamarie holds a PhD in Anthropology from The University of Tokyo, an MA in Environment from Simon Fraser University, and a BA in Japanese and English from the University of Victoria.
