Enrico Fontana

Enrico Fontana, PhD has extensive experience in the rail industry, particularly in sales, business development, and strategy roles. Enrico currently works as the Vice President Sales and Business Development, North America at Hitachi Rail. Prior to this, they held various positions at Siemens, including VP Turnkey North America and Head of Strategy North America for Siemens Mobility. Before their time at Siemens, Enrico worked at Hitachi Rail as the VP Business Management, EMEA and Head of Turnkey, North America. Enrico also served as the Managing Director of the Hitachi Rail Honolulu JV, overseeing a $1.6B contract with the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation. Enrico started their career at Siemens as the Head of Bidding and Global Front Line Sales Support for Energy. Enrico has a PhD in Energy, System Integration, and Sustainability from Politecnico di Torino and has worked at companies such as Areva and SCK CEN in various engineering roles.

Enrico Fontana, PhD has an extensive education history. Enrico obtained a PhD in Energy, System Integration and Sustainability from Politecnico di Torino in 2005. Prior to that, they completed a Postgraduate Degree in Engines and Power Systems from Universidad de Zaragoza in 2003. Enrico also holds a Master of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, which they received in 2001. In addition to their degrees, they completed a Master Thesis as an Erasmus Program student at Université catholique de Louvain in 2001. Enrico's educational journey began at Liceo Classico "G. Arimondi" where they completed their secondary education from 1989 to 1994. Enrico has also obtained several certifications, including a PMP certification from the Project Management Institute in 2012 and a Professional Engineer (Italian) certification from the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research in 2001.
