Jeana Gingery

Jeana Gingery has a strong background in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) roles. Jeana is currently the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at HNI Corporation, where they lead the DEI Executive Council and has successfully increased the representation of women and ethnically diverse leaders within the organization. Prior to that, they held the same role at Workiva, where they drove influential initiatives and integrated DEI into the company's strategy, culture, and practices. Jeana also has experience in university relations, where they successfully recruited interns and early careerists and fostered diversity and inclusion. Jeana has previous experience in recruitment and online student services at Iowa State University and program coordination at the Krell Institute. Jeana's early career includes roles as an assistant director at Iowa State University and assistant dining manager at ISU Dining.

Jeana Gingery, CDE, holds a Master of Education degree in Higher Education from Iowa State University, which they obtained from 2002 to 2004. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from Iowa State University from 1998 to 2001. Additionally, Jeana attended Des Moines Area Community College from 1996 to 1998, but did not obtain a degree or specify a field of study. In terms of certifications, they obtained the Certified Diversity Executive designation from the Institute for Diversity Certif Administration in December 2022. Furthermore, Jeana has completed a variety of LinkedIn courses, including "Articulating Your Value," "Learn Emotional Intelligence, the Key Determiner of Success," "Strategic Thinking," "A Guide to ERGs (Employee Resource Groups)," "Creating Psychological Safety for Diverse Teams," "Leading and Motivating People with Different Personalities," "Communicating Across Cultures," "Communicating about Culturally Sensitive Issues," "Confronting Bias: Thriving Across Our Differences," "Developing Self-Awareness," "Discussing Racism with Dr. Christina Greer," "Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging," "Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging for All," "Jodi Glickman on Pitching Yourself," "Skills for Inclusive Conversations," and "The Diversity Leader's Blueprint to Strategy and Implementation." Lastly, they hold a DEI Practitioners Certificate from Jennifer Brown Consulting, which they obtained in 2019.
