Michael Blankenship has a diverse range of work experience spanning over two decades. Michael began their career in 1998 as the Assistant Director of Marketing at the US Navy Office of Information, where they oversaw community relations and directed Navy-wide product launches.
In 1999, they became an Aide-de-Camp at the US Navy Chief of Information. From 2000 to 2005, Michael served as the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the US Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, Blue Angels. In this role, they led marketing and PR efforts, acted as the primary media contact, and provided crisis communications guidance to senior leadership.
In 2005, Michael launched their own consultancy, mScott PR, where they offered PR, communication, web design, and media services to public and private sectors.
