Jeffrey M. Lewis has a diverse work history spanning over 20 years. Jeffrey M started their career as a Unix & Network Administrator at TradeOut in 2000, providing support for a B2B e-commerce website. From there, they worked as a System Administrator at Oscient Pharmaceuticals, where they were responsible for the operational integrity of numerous UNIX hosts and storage systems. In 2004, they worked as a System Administrator at SRI International, deploying and maintaining servers and providing support for Windows applications. Jeffrey M also took on independent consulting roles, working on various projects for biotechnology firms.
In 2006, Lewis joined CNET Networks as a Senior System Administrator, where they managed Linux hosts, storage systems, and databases. Jeffrey M continued their career at CBS Interactive as a Senior System Administrator and was responsible for the operational integrity of Linux hosts and Netapp filers.
In 2011, Lewis joined Tesla Motors as a Principal UNIX Systems Administrator, managing Linux systems, storage, and VMware clusters. Jeffrey M then joined Fitbit as a Principal Operations Engineer, where they managed bare metal servers and later became the Team Lead for the Database Engineering team.
Lewis joined 42 Lines Inc in 2012, initially working as a Principal Operations Engineer before transitioning to the role of DevOps Engineer. Jeffrey M deployed and managed microservice architectures using technologies like Kubernetes, Terraform, and Helm, and also implemented automated deployment processes using CircleCI.
Most recently, Lewis worked at Crater, where they served as a Principal Site Reliability Engineer. Here, they set up and maintained infrastructure for a highly scalable creator collaboration platform.
In 2023, Lewis joined HRG - Harvest Revenue Group as a DevOps Technical Lead.
Jeffrey M Lewis obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Davis in the years 1998 to 2001. Jeffrey M also holds a certification as a Certified Kubernetes Administrator from The Linux Foundation, which they obtained in August 2022.
