Steven Laymon

Steven Laymon is currently the VP for Graduate Programs & Continuing Studies at Hollins University. Prior to this, they served as the Associate Dean and Associate Professor / Lecturer at the University of Virginia School of Continuing and Professional Studies, responsible for academic programs and student services. Steven has also served as the Resident Head at the University of Chicago's Office of Undergraduate Student Housing, and as the Assistant Dean at Columbia University.

Laymon is a creative instructor, skilled at online, blended, and face-face teaching. Steven has guided the work of graduate and professional programs, and has been part of senior leadership teams at both the University of Chicago Graham School and Columbia University. Steven has also overseen transitions to online programs at both institutions.

Steven Laymon received their M.A. in International Relations and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Chicago.

Steven Laymon reports to Mary Dana Hinton, President. They are on a team with Kerry Edmonds - EVP & COO, Suzy Mink - VP for External Relations, and Ashley Browning - VP for Enrollment Management.
