Margaret H. has a long and varied work experience. Margaret started their career in 2003 as a Receptionist at Ralph Lauren, then moved to Sales Assistant and Planning Manager roles at the same company. In 2007 they became a Development Assistant at Virginia Commonwealth University, where they managed donor giving and school fundraising campaigns and wrote copy for the alumni magazine. In 2010 they took on the role of English Teacher and Department Co-Chair at Highland Springs High School, where they implemented a blended learning approach and developed best practices for a 1:1 laptop ratio. In 2015 they became a Freelance Writer for Grammarly and Director of Research at EdSurge, where they managed a team of research project managers and allocated time, budget, and resources across all projects. Margaret also wrote the EdSurge Edtech Selection Framework and Edtech Selection Playbook. In 2019 they joined ISTE as Director of Grant and Program Strategy, where they co-led setting the vision and setting the grant and program strategy across the education systems-change initiatives. Margaret is currently VP, Education at HolonIQ, starting in 2022.
Margaret H. completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Art Margaret'story, Criticism and Conservation from Denison University between 1999 and 2002. Margaret then pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English Language and Literature, General from Virginia Commonwealth University between 2007 and 2010, and a Master of Teaching (M.T.) in English Education from the same institution during the same time period. Additionally, Margaret H. is certified as an AFAA Certified Group Exercise Instructor by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), is CPR/AED Certified, and is a Certified Spinning Instructor by Mad Dogg Athletics\u00ae.
