In 2019, they began working as the VP of Licensing and Business Development at BARK, where they oversee partnerships across the company's business lines and distribution channels. From 2012-2019, they held the role of VP Business Development & Licensing at HOMAGE, where they were responsible for growing the company's licensed apparel business by 200% over 5 years. In 2011, they were the Director of Corporate Sponsorships at the Seattle International Film Festival. From 2007-2008, they were the Manager of Business Development and Sponsorships at REVERB, a non-profit organization. In 2008, they founded Portland Greendrinks. From 2006-2007, they worked at Clif Bar as a Brand Representative, Events, at Porter Novelli as an Account Executive, and at Climate Counts as a Researcher. In 2005, they were the General Manager at The Big Green Bus, a non-profit organization, where they raised over $100,000 from individual donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors.

Elliott May received their BA in History and Classics from Dartmouth College in 2006, after attending Bexley High School from 1998 to 2002.
