Martin Hergert

Head of Strategic Business Development at Home

Martin Hergert has diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Martin currently works at Home as the Head of Strategic Business Development, a position they have held since March 2021. Prior to this role, they served as the Strategic Business Development Lead at Home from March 2019 to February 2021.

Before joining Home, Martin worked at The Boston Consulting Group for a significant period of time. Martin began as an Associate in September 2011 and progressed to the role of Consultant from September 2014 to February 2017. Martin then became a Project Leader from March 2017 to December 2018. During their time at The Boston Consulting Group, Martin worked on various exemplary projects, including strategy development for EU software companies, EU steel companies, and a group of EU Telcos. Martin also conducted multiple due diligences for various organizations.

Prior to their tenure at The Boston Consulting Group, Martin worked as an Independent Consultant to the Dean of the Business School at Central European University in 2010 and interned at Quarton International in 2008. Martin also served as a Student Assistant at TU Bergakademie Freiberg from 2007 to 2008 and interned at Hallo Pizza GmbH in 2006. Martin began their professional career in 2004 as an Alternative Servant (Zivildienstleistender) at Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V., where they worked until June 2005.

Martin Hergert has a diverse education history. Martin completed the Full-time MBA Program at Central European University in 2010, as part of a dual degree program with TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany. Prior to that, they obtained their Diplom-Kaufmann degree in Business Administration from TU Bergakademie Freiberg in 2009, also through a dual degree program with CEU Business School, Budapest. Before pursuing higher education, Martin earned their High School Diploma (Abitur) from Christoph-Graupner-Gymnasium in Kirchberg (Sachsen), Germany, between 1996 and 2004.

In addition to their academic achievements, Martin has obtained several certifications. Martin became a Professional Scrum Master I and a Professional Scrum Product Owner I from Scrum.org in November 2018. Martin also holds a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification from Scrum Alliance, which they obtained in January 2018. Martin has also completed the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) with a score of 650 out of 800. Additionally, they achieved a score of 114 out of 120 in the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language).
