Shona Baum has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several years.
Shona Baum started their career as a Division Director at Westside Community Services in 1999. Shona worked in this role for over ten years until 2010. During their time at Westside Community Services, they served as a Program Director, overseeing various programs.
In 2010, Shona moved on to work as a Program Director at Seneca Center for a year, where they were responsible for managing programs.
From 2011 to 2019, Shona held several leadership positions in various organizations. Shona served as the Director of Programs at the Homeless Prenatal Program from 2011 to 2019. In 2018, they worked as a Project Manager at Community Partners for a year. Shona also worked as the Director of Programs for Alameda and San Francisco Counties at First Place for Youth from 2019 to 2021.
In 2015, Shona founded and owned the Edificio America Casa Particular Collective, where they developed a lodging collective and travel services business in Cuba. Shona provided lodging and travel logistics for international travelers and groups visiting Cuba.
In 2016, Shona co-founded and developed Casa California, a boutique hotel project in Guanabo, Cuba.
From 2017 to the present, Shona became a Restaurant Owner and Project Developer at California Cafe, planning and developing multiple projects in Cuba.
Lastly, Shona currently works as the Director at Telecare Corporation, starting in 2021.
In addition to their professional roles, Shona has worked as a self-employed Organizational Consultant and Psychotherapist since 2003. Shona'swork involves helping leaders assess and address cultural issues in foreign settings, coaching new and senior leaders to increase impact and engagement, conducting qualitative feedback reviews, and implementing change management interventions. Shona also provides consultation, coaching, and therapy to professional clients, as well as therapy to individuals, couples, and groups.
Shona Baum holds a Bachelor's degree in Spanish Literature from San Francisco State University. Shona then pursued a Masters in Social Welfare Management and Planning at the University of California, Berkeley. In 1985, they started a BA program at Brandeis University, but it is unclear whether they completed it or not.
