Family Self Sufficiency Coordinator at Homes for Good

Tara Garkow is an experienced professional in social services and education with a strong background in housing assistance and mental health support. As the Family Self-Sufficiency Coordinator at Homes for Good since January 2019, Tara focuses on life coaching, goal-setting, and financial management for lower-income individuals receiving housing assistance. Previously, Tara served as a Hospitality Liaison at Kesey Enterprises Inc. and as a QMHA Housing Navigator at Laurel Hill Center, where coordination of rental assistance and transitional housing programs helped vulnerable populations navigate housing barriers. Additional experience includes teaching English as a Second Language in Spain and facilitating a creative reuse afterschool art program. Tara holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Criminal Justice from Portland State University, as well as two associate degrees from Portland Community College.
