Cathy Barry

Cathy Barry is an accomplished professional in the field of oncology and molecular biology, currently serving as an Associate Director at AbbVie since January 2019, with roles spanning clinical science, biomarker program management, and COVID-19 laboratory supervision. Cathy is also a member of the Homeward Bound Projects, a leadership initiative for women in STEMM. Previous positions include Manager of Technical Support and Technical Support Principal Scientist at Sysmex Inostics, and Senior Scientist in Assay Development at Abbott Molecular. Cathy began their career as a Research Assistant Professor at Evanston Hospital, focusing on cancer research. Cathy holds a Bachelor's of Science in Biology from Marquette University and a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Illinois at Chicago, complemented by post-doctoral fellowships in Molecular and Developmental Biology and Biochemistry and Cardiology.
