Mike Murphy

Mike Murphy has a diverse work experience in the aviation industry. Mike started their career as a Contracting Officer in the United States Air Force, where they gained expertise in the Government/DOD acquisition process. Mike then transitioned to becoming a Pilot in the Air Force, specializing in flying T-6II, T-38C, and F-16C/D aircraft. After their service in the Air Force, they worked for Piper Aircraft as an International Sales Manager, responsible for direct sales, marketing, and business development. In this role, they presented the official pilot demonstration video of the Piper M600. Mike also served as a C-17 Pilot in the US Air Force Reserve. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Sales at Honda Aircraft Company, where they are directly responsible for Honda's largest aircraft fleet customer, Volato.

Mike Murphy has a diverse education history. In 2002, they began their undergraduate studies at The Citadel, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Business/Managerial Economics. Mike completed their undergraduate education in 2006. During this time, in 2004, they also attended the University of Virginia, where they obtained a minor in Spanish Language and Literature.

After completing their undergraduate studies, Mike went on to further their education at The Citadel. In 2013, they enrolled in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program and successfully completed it in 2014.

In terms of additional certifications, in 2007, Mike obtained the Federal Acquisition Certification - Contracting Level I (FAC-C) from the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA). Later, in 2018, they acquired the Airline Transport Pilot (ATP-MEL) and HA-420 HondaJet Type Rating certifications from the Federal Aviation Administration.

Looking ahead, Mike has future plans to attend the USAF Air Command and Staff College, where they aim to pursue a degree in Military and Strategic Leadership. The start year for this program is 2023, but the end year is currently unknown.
