Amanda Cookson

Amanda Cookson is a dedicated mental health professional with extensive experience in behavioral health and social work. Currently serving as a Behavioral Health Clinician at Honor Community Health since February 2023, Amanda delivers individual and group therapy within school settings and collaborates with medical teams on patient care. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Shelby Counseling Inc since November 2016, Amanda provides individual and family counseling across various age groups. Prior experience includes directing transition services for youth exiting the foster care system at The New Foster Care and managing Runaway and Homeless Youth Programs at Common Ground, where Amanda developed skills in program compliance and grant oversight. Amanda holds a Master of Social Work from Wayne State University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Michigan State University.
