Emil Wasteson

Co-Founder at Hooked Foods

Emil Wasteson has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. In 2018, they co-founded Odd Season, a company focused on reducing food waste by creating frozen purées from unused fruits and vegetables. Emil served as co-founder until 2020. In 2019, Emil worked as a product manager at Effektiv Altruisme Norge, leading the development of a CRM system. Emil also became a board member and head of economy and funding at Effektiv Altruism Sverige from 2019 to 2020. Additionally, Emil was a global shaper at the Global Shapers Community, where they worked on initiatives addressing global challenges from 2019 to 2021. Emil joined Hooked Foods as a co-founder in 2019 and continues in that role. In 2020, Emil became a leadership coach at Scouternas folkhögskola, and in 2021, they pledged to donate a percentage of their returns as a pledger at Founders Pledge. Emil has also served as a startup mentor at Founder Institute since 2021 and Future Academy since 2022. Most recently, in 2023, they became the executive director at Effektiv Altruism Sverige.

Emil Wasteson obtained their Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Linköping University, which they attended from 2013 to 2018. During their time at Linköping University, their focus of study was in the field of Engineering/Industrial Management.

In addition to their studies at Linköping University, Emil also pursued a diploma in Value Based Leadership from H.M King Carl Gustaf´s Foundation for Young Leadership at The Swedish Scouts Leadership Collage. This diploma program took place from 2017 to 2018 and was centered around the study of Organizational Leadership.
