Caitlin Mehra has a diverse background in the field of literacy and education. Caitlin is currently working as the VP of Literacy & Learning at Hoot Reading. Prior to that, they co-founded Dewey, an education community platform. Caitlin has also served as a Literacy Trainer and Consultant at the Jewish Coalition for Literacy. In addition, they have held various roles at LitLife, Inc., including Chief Executive Officer, Interim Chief Executive Officer, and Literacy Consultant. Caitlin's experience also includes working as an Instructional Coach at the Dallas Independent School District, a Literacy Specialist at Enseña Ecuador, and a Quality Advisor (Coach) at Dallas Afterschool. Caitlin began their career as a Bilingual Education Teacher with Teach for America Dallas.
Caitlin Mehra completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science (Public Policy) and Spanish at the University of Florida from 2005 to 2009. In 2008, they also participated in a study abroad program at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, focusing on Social and Political Issues and Chilean Conversation/Culture. Later, from 2011 to 2013, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in International/Global Studies at the University of Denver - Josef Korbel School of International Studies.
