Nick Taranto has a varied work experience that spans from 2005 to present day. In 2005, they were a Group Leader for Hands On Disaster Response. From 2006 to 2009, they were a Microfinance Consultant/Fulbright Grantee for KOMPIP Microfinance, where they managed a team of seven Indonesia-based field staff to develop a for-profit microfinance platform. From 2009 to 2010, they were a Summer Associate for McKinsey & Company. In 2010, they became an Infantry Officer for the United States Marine Corps, where they graduated from The Basic School and Infantry Officer Course (Active Duty). Nick also drilled as an active reservist for three years. From 2011 to 2012, they were a Private Wealth Advisor for Goldman Sachs, where they managed $3.5 billion in private and institutional client assets with a team of partners. In 2012, they became a Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Plated, where they helped the business grow to over 1,500 employees, shipping tens of millions of meals and raising over $90M in venture funding. In 2018, they founded and became the CEO of Trove Social. In 2019, they founded and became the Chairman of HOP WTR. Finally, in 2021, they became a Co-Founder of Ever Scouts.

Nick Taranto completed their high school diploma at Horace Mann School between 1998 and 2002. Nick then attended Dartmouth College from 2002 to 2006, earning a BA in Geography and Post-disaster focused non-profits (Senior Fellowship). Nick subsequently attended Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School between 2007 and 2010, earning an MBA and MPA in Development Economics and International Development, respectively.
