Alex Lawson has a diverse range of work experience. Alex started their career as an Events, Leadership, and DEI professional at Millsaps College from 2013 to 2014. Alex then worked as a Financial Analyst at EdgeTheory from 2014 to 2016. After that, they co-founded and served as the Founding Director of Operations at RePublic Schools, a computer science college preparatory school, from 2016 to 2017. From 2017 to 2018, Alex worked at Hope Enterprise Corporation as an Investor Relations Associate, where they raised over $60 million in funding. Alex then became the Corporate Project Manager, leading the development of corporate strategy and budget. In 2022, they were promoted to Senior Vice President, Strategic Initiatives, where they led corporate strategy development and execution. In 2019, Alex joined the Jackson Redevelopment Authority (JRA) as a Commissioner and Chairman, working on revitalizing the agency and driving economic development in the central business district. Currently, they are the Acting Director of JRA, leading strategic planning efforts.
Alex Lawson earned a High School Diploma (High Honors) from Harrison Central High School from 2006 to 2009. They then pursued a BBA in Business Administration (Financial Services Concentration) from Millsaps College, graduating in 2013. Later, in 2013-2014, Alex completed their education journey by obtaining a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Business Administration and Management, General from Millsaps College.
