James Shuman

James Shuman has a diverse work experience in the field of cybersecurity and information security. James currently works as the Head of Security at Horizen Labs since November 2022. Prior to this, they were the Chief Information Security Officer at Byteworks from an unknown start date to 2022. In this role, they oversaw internal and external cybersecurity operations, managed governance and compliance, and directed the cyber division. James also served as the Director of Security, Engineering Manager, and Operations Manager at Byteworks from 2015 to 2022, where they provided strategic direction and management to the cybersecurity group. James has also worked at ROCKWELL COLLINS as a Senior Systems Security Engineer from an unknown start date to 2013, where they planned and oversaw enterprise programs for IT system security. Before that, they worked at ROCKWELL COLLINS as a Senior Systems Engineer and Senior Telecommunications Specialist from 2004 to 2010, where they focused on network systems and telecommunications. James has a strong background in cybersecurity and network technologies, with a proven track record of managing security operations and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

James Shuman completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix. James also holds additional certifications, including the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA, the Certified Information Systems Security Professional from (ISC)², and the Cisco Certified Network Professional - Security from Cisco. As of 2022, they are pursuing a Master's degree in Cybersecurity from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
