Since 2003, Don has developed and implemented strategic and operational plans for Horizon’s Construction and Property Management Departments. He is responsible for project management, administration and oversight; cost estimating and contract negotiation; financial operations of construction, renovation, property management and facility development. Don also helped develop supportive housing services through Horizon for individuals who are homeless with significant chemical dependency disabilities. Before moving into his current position, Don was executive director of Horizon Initiatives, Inc., where he developed and implemented strategic and annual operating plans. In this position, Don helped reduce expenses of the parent corporation and generated revenues of nearly $500,000 in the first year. He also helped develop work training programs recognized by the State Office of Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities. Don, who began working at Horizon in 1983, has also served as Transportation Coordinator and Director of Corporate Support Services.
Don attended Buffalo State College for Business Administration. He is a member of the University Community Initiative; Construction Exchange of Buffalo & WNY; and Clean Cities Committee of Western New York. In addition, he has a working relationship with NYSERDA & the New York State Power Authority to develop energy efficiencies to reduce building operational costs.
